Recent reports indicate that Apple is expanding into the wearable market with a new product: smart glasses. Unlike the Apple Vision Pro, these glasses won’t be headsets or offer augmented reality or spatial computing. Instead, they will resemble regular eyewear, aimed at complementing the iPhone and providing smart functionalities.

The glasses are expected to feature built-in cameras, speakers, and microphones for capturing photos, videos, and interacting with the phone. They are projected to operate as an AI-driven wearable device, with a potential launch in 2027. In April 2026, Bloomberg reported that Apple is testing four different frame styles: a large rectangular frame inspired by Ray-Ban Wayfarer; larger oval or circular frames; a slimmer rectangular style similar to Tim Cook’s glasses; and a smaller, more refined oval or circular option. The goal is to create a recognizable, high-quality product with a unique Apple design, avoiding partnerships with external brands.

These glasses won’t serve as computing devices but will be practical, AI-powered accessories that enhance the Apple ecosystem with simple, elegant features for everyday use.
