Diego Luna joins the cast of Disney's Tangled live-action remake
Star Wars actor Diego Luna has joined the cast of the upcoming Tangled live-action film, playing a character created just for this version. Filming starts in June in Spain.

Diego Luna, best known for his role as Cassian Andor in Star Wars, has joined the cast of Disney's Tangled live-action remake. The news was reported by The Hollywood Reporter, confirming Luna will play a new character specifically created for this adaptation.

He will star alongside Teagan Croft, who will portray Rapunzel, and Milo Manheim, with their roles still under wraps. The exact identity of Luna’s character remains a secret, but it’s confirmed that it was designed exclusively for this project.
The project was first announced in December 2024, but Disney paused its plans after the release of Snow White in 2025. Recently, production resumed, and the cast was partially reshuffled, including Kathryn Hahn replacing Scarlett Johansson as the villain Mother Gothel.
Directed by Michael Gracey, known for The Greatest Showman, the remake has yet to announce a release date. Filming is scheduled to begin in June in Spain, and fans are eager to see how Disney will introduce Luna’s new character into this reimagined story.
Meanwhile, the community keeps an eye on upcoming updates and hopes for exciting surprises in this Disney classic’s new adaptation.
