Fast & Furious to Get Live-Action Series on Peacock
NBCUniversal confirmed that the franchise is developing a new live-action series for Peacock, with Vin Diesel as executive producer. The expansion continues.
The Fast & Furious franchise keeps expanding beyond the big screen. NBCUniversal announced that a live-action series based on the universe is in development for Peacock. Vin Diesel, the star and executive producer, confirmed the project during NBCUniversal’s annual presentation.
Diesel explained that the idea comes from fans wanting to see more character development and stories. The goal is to preserve the family spirit, international appeal, and integrity that define the franchise. This move marks another step in building a broader universe, following the animated series _Fast & Furious Spy Racers_, which aired from 2019 to 2021.
Currently, only one of the four series in development has been greenlit for Peacock, while the others are still in various stages of production at Universal Television. Plot details remain under wraps, but the pilot will be written by Mike Daniels and Wolfe Coleman, who will also serve as showrunners and executive producers. Diesel, Sam Vincent, Neal Moritz, Pavun Shetty, Jeff Kirschenbaum, and Chris Morgan will also produce.
The franchise has grossed over 7 billion dollars worldwide across its ten main films and spin-offs. The main storyline is set to conclude with _Fast & Furious 11_, scheduled for 2028. Still, the franchise aims to become a much larger universe, with new projects and a bright future in television and streaming.
