First Supergirl Clip Shows Kara’s Awkward Arrival on Earth
The new footage reveals Kara’s first meeting with Superman outside the Fortress of Solitude, with a language barrier, some Kryptonian tension, and Krypto stealing part of the scene.

The first clip from Supergirl is already setting the tone: Kara does not arrive on Earth with a grand heroic entrance or a perfectly timed epic soundtrack. Quite the opposite. The footage shows the young Kryptonian landing near the Fortress of Solitude, completely out of place, before meeting Superman for the first time.
The scene plays with a bit of awkward humor, but it also makes one thing clear: Kara is not just visiting a new planet. She is lost, unable to understand the language, and has no easy way to communicate with Clark. That detail works as a strong character introduction. Superman already has a connection to Earth; Kara is still looking at everything from the outside.
That is where the clip becomes especially interesting for DC fans. The scene does not frame Kara as a female version of Superman, but as someone with her own history, her own perspective, and probably far less patience when it comes to accepting the rules of this world. The difference between them is not only in what they say, but in how they react to the unknown.
And then there is Krypto. The superdog once again makes his presence felt and steals a good part of the moment. In the clip, Krypto reacts protectively toward Kara and even nips Superman. It is a brief but effective gag, continuing the chaotic and lovable dynamic that made him a fan favorite after his appearance in last year’s Superman film.
The footage also gives a sense of what Supergirl might be aiming for tonally. There is humor, there is strangeness, and there is an underlying tension between Kara and Clark that suggests this will be more than a straightforward origin story. Supergirl’s arrival on Earth seems less like a heroic welcome and more like the beginning of a cultural clash inside the Kryptonian legacy itself.
For now, the clip leaves one idea very clear: this version of Kara does not land on Earth ready to embrace it as her home. First, she has to understand it. And judging by this first look, that journey will not be exactly comfortable.
