Google Maps Rolls Out Speed Camera Alerts in Argentina

Google Maps has started rolling out speed camera alerts in Argentina. This feature is now available to drivers across the country, covering national routes and city access points. It aims to provide safer driving and prevent unexpected situations on the road. The deployment is gradual, but its benefits are already clear to the user community.

The application now displays discreet camera icons along your route. It also provides voice alerts as you approach a speed control point. These tools work seamlessly on both Android and iOS devices. You do not need to install any external add-ons or applications to use them.

These new alerts integrate with the existing speed limit display. Furthermore, an on-screen speedometer helps you maintain control while driving. Speed camera coverage is growing progressively. The data improves significantly with reports from the user community.

Activating this feature is straightforward, even though Google Maps does not have an explicit “speed camera” option. Follow these steps to enable it:

• Update your Google Maps application to the latest version. You can do this via the Play Store or App Store.

• Open the app, tap your profile picture, and access “Settings.”

• Select “Navigation settings” from the options.

• Activate both “Speed limits” and “Speedometer.” This will allow you to see real-time data.

Choose between “Radar,” “Control de velocidad,” or “Speed trap,” depending on your language setting. Then, confirm the location of the report. More reports lead to greater accuracy in the alerts.

The platform prioritizes recent alerts and those with the most matches. If you make a mistake, you can edit or undo your report within the first few seconds. This active collaboration enhances the driving experience for the entire community.
