Meta partners with AWS to boost AI with Graviton chips
Meta announced a partnership with Amazon Web Services to integrate millions of Graviton cores, advancing the development of autonomous AI systems.

Meta confirmed today its partnership with Amazon Web Services (AWS) to embed tens of millions of Graviton cores into its computing infrastructure. This move makes Meta one of the largest users of AWS's custom silicon designed for demanding, scalable workloads.
The Graviton5 cores deliver faster data processing and increased bandwidth, essential for AI systems that need to reason, plan, and execute tasks at scale. This hardware is tailored to support the evolving needs of Meta’s agentic AI, which involves autonomous systems capable of complex decision-making.
This agreement strengthens Meta’s infrastructure strategy, which involves a mix of in-house data centers, custom hardware, and cloud partnerships. Adding AWS Graviton cores ensures Meta has the right compute resources for each workload, enabling more efficient and flexible AI development.
According to Nafea Bshara, AWS Vice President, this collaboration will help developers build AI that understands, anticipates, and scales effectively for billions of users worldwide. The partnership highlights the importance of purpose-built silicon in powering next-generation AI systems.
Santosh Janardhan, Meta’s Head of Infrastructure, emphasized that diversifying compute sources is vital for supporting the company’s AI ambitions. The integration of Graviton chips is a strategic step to improve performance and efficiency at Meta’s scale.
As Meta continues to grow its AI systems and experiences impacting billions, partnerships like this are key to building a flexible, powerful, and scalable infrastructure for the future.
