Google tests Your Day in Gemini to streamline your routine
A new feature in testing within the Gemini app aims to centralize your daily tasks using AI. Your connected apps could power a proactive, personalized feed.
Google is testing a feature called "Your Day" inside the Gemini app, its artificial intelligence assistant. The tool appeared in the beta version's code and aims to deliver an automated daily summary of your tasks, appointments, and relevant content. Everything would be integrated into a centralized feed accessible from the app's side menu. This is another step in Google's push toward proactive, personalized AI.
"Your Day" would work as a smart dashboard pulling data from apps linked to your Google account. These include Gmail, Google Photos, YouTube, and Calendar. The AI would analyze this information to show cards with reminders, key dates, pending emails, or upcoming events. It could also surface photos from the same day in previous years, helping you relive personal moments without manual searching.
The foundation of this feature is "Personal Intelligence", an AI layer Google launched in January. This technology allows Gemini to access your personal data with your explicit permission. You decide which apps and types of information can be used. Enabling "Your Day" will be optional and managed through the Personal Intelligence section in your Gemini profile.
Once activated, you might get early alerts about meetings, task deadlines, or YouTube video suggestions tied to your plans. Each card in the feed would be interactive, letting you open the original content or mark it as done. Deep Gmail integration, for example, could identify emails requiring urgent replies or event confirmations.
Google hasn't confirmed an official launch date for "Your Day". The feature was discovered by 9to5Google in the beta app files. Given the focus on privacy and user control, it's likely the rollout will start with personal accounts before expanding to work environments. The goal is to help you keep up with your day without switching between apps.
