NASA astronauts to answer questions live from the ISS on April 30
On April 30, Jessica Meir and Jack Hathaway will participate in a live stream from the International Space Station to inspire students in Missouri.
On April 30, students and community members in Missouri will have the chance to hear directly from NASA astronauts Jessica Meir and Jack Hathaway. The live event from the International Space Station (ISS) will start at 10:50 a.m. EDT and will be streamed on the "Learn With NASA" YouTube channel.
This event, organized by the University of Missouri’s Pre-Employment Transition Services, aims to bring STEM subjects closer to young people. It encourages their interest in space careers and scientific exploration.
During the call, students can submit questions that the astronauts will answer from space. The activity helps connect the community with the realities of living and working aboard the ISS, inspiring curiosity and learning.
For over 25 years, crews aboard the ISS have conducted scientific research and technology tests that benefit Earth and prepare for future missions, including NASA’s Artemis program to return humans to the Moon and eventually explore Mars. The station communicates 24/7 through NASA’s Space Communications and Navigation network.
This type of outreach emphasizes the ISS as a hub for education and innovation, motivating new generations to pursue careers in space and science.
This event aims to inspire students to imagine futures in space exploration and STEM fields.
