Progress 95 Launch and Docking at the ISS Scheduled for April 26
Progress 95, carrying nearly three tons of supplies, will launch from Kazakhstan and arrive at the ISS in two days.
On April 25 at 6:21 p.m. EDT, the uncrewed Progress 95 cargo spacecraft will launch from Baikonur Cosmodrome in Kazakhstan aboard a Soyuz rocket. It carries about three tons of food, fuel, and supplies needed by the International Space Station crew.
NASA will provide live coverage of both the launch and the docking, scheduled for April 27 at 8 p.m. EST. The broadcast begins at 7:15 p.m. on NASA+, YouTube, and Amazon Prime. Viewers can follow the spacecraft’s autonomous approach and docking to the aft port of the Zvezda module.
After a two-day journey, Progress 95 will remain attached to the station for roughly seven months. Prior to this, Progress 93 undocked and re-entered Earth’s atmosphere safely over the Pacific Ocean on April 20. These cargo missions are vital for maintaining the station’s operations, which have been ongoing for over 25 years, enabling scientific breakthroughs and supporting future lunar and Mars missions.
The ISS continues to be a hub for scientific research and international cooperation. Its crew conducts experiments that expand our understanding of space and human health, while also paving the way for exploration beyond low Earth orbit.
